Debut: Anime Central 2009

Notes: I was having a mind block when it came to costumes I really wanted to make. I desperately wanted to make a new costume for Acen (my favorite convention of the year), no matter how easy it was. After several long searches and questions from friends, I ultimately decided on Lum. Her outfit was easy, yet very recognizable and of course, sexy. I've only seen a handful of Urusei Yatsura episodes, but that doesn't mean I won't watch more! I had a blast wearing this costume, which was surprisingly comfortable! Then again, I AM wearing super soft fleece.

I covered a suitable strapless bra in yellow fleece, and cut out the tiger stripes myself. The stripes were glued, then hand stitched down. (This was time consuming!) I ultimately decided on using stiletto boots for this costume. I was extremely close to re-using a pair of old knee high boots with chunkier heels, (do you see my frugality in costumes developing this year?) but accuracy got the best of me, and I bought a new pair to cover. Unfortunately since I have bigger feet, the only pair available in my size was the color red. Normally this wouldn't matter, but since you have to leave the zipper area open, a big red zipper was fully visible -_- I made do though, by covering the zipper with a piece of yellow fleece.

The horns are made from model magic, something I highly recommend! They are extremely lightweight, sandable and paintable! I also splurged and bought some small vampire fangs, which I absolutely loved. The wig could use a bit of restyling, but I will definitely be wearing this costume again soon!
