Debut: Ohayocon 2009

Notes: This costume was another interesting challenge. I've never been the best at making bodysuits. I was thankfully very lucky with this costume. I spaced and sewed in all of the ribbing on the body suit, hand stitched on the shoulder pads, and made the military hat! The gloves are made entirely of foamies and soda can holders, which are also made of foam. The foamies were glued together, painted in several coats of quality acrylic paint, and were glued to a pair of spandex gloves. The wig I used was actually the base wig for my Okama Asuka costume (I just unclipped the pigtails.) I saved myself money by recycling a wig!

Anne and I actually made these costumes completely separate from each other. We never sat down together and worked on these, we only decided on the same materials and discussed several techniques. When we arrived at Ohayocon and pulled out our costumes, we were stunned that our costumes looked so incredibly similar! Even our gloves looked identical. What can we say? Great minds really do think alike. :D
