Debut: Anime Central 2008

Notes: I cannot even TELL you half of how difficult it was to deal with this costume. This costume was made for my boyfriend to go along with my Lady. What really bothers me about this is the fact that lighting and flash photography really do not do this costume any favors. We had such a hard time seleting just the perfect color vinyl for Dante's jacket. We literally must have ordered/gotten at least 12-15 red vinyl swatches in an array of colors and textures. And then, when we had finally chosen the absolute perfect vinyl, we find out that the company that makes it is out of stock. -_-;

We had to unfortunately settle for a different vinyl, that was ridiculously shiny, sticky, and WAY too red (almost orange). Upon experimentation, we tried spray painting the vinyl at a distance, letting it dry, covered it with a layer of talcum powder, wiped the powder off with water, then covered it with another layer of powder. We did this to the ENTIRE COAT. Bless my boyfriend for doing that.

I'm sure if I had already gotten the perfect fabric and had to use of an industrial sewing machine with a teflon foot, I would've been a bit happier, not to mention less stressed. However, the jacket is fully lined & has functional pockets.
